Our Esk development site (Matahourua and Castor Crescent) provided the perfect site for a fang-tastic Halloween celebration.
To acknowledge completing massive civils and infrastructure work on the site and the patience the community have shown the project team, the Te Rā Nui team hosted an afternoon of fun and exploration.
The day started at 7am, with Ngāti Toa Rangatira blessing and unveiling the names of three new streets. Wairere (flowing waters), Karera (Green) and Ngā Whetū (stars) streets will help to connect the new homes onto Matahourua and Castor Crecent and out to the wider neighbourhood.
Winners on the day!!
Three talented tamariki walked away with $150 supermarket vouchers for their colouring in competition entries. Below are some of the incredible artwork shared on the day.
A big thank you!!
Esk development isn’t a standard housing development site. Te Rā Nui have thought about and delivered innovative ways to future proof the wider neighbourhood, enable more housing, all whilst protecting what is most precious to the East – our taiao (environment).
Thank you to everyone for your patience as we undertook this massive project. Whilst it’s mostly underground – out of site and out of mind, this mahi i.e. increasing the stormwater catchment by 35 hectares – that’s more than 35 rugby fields! We’ve also installed new, larger, more reliable pipes will set the neighbourhood up for generations to come. To learn more about the Esk development site check out the video below.
