Removal of temporary roundabout at Mungavin Avenue and McKillop Street

detour ahead

Upcoming nightworks to remove temporary roundabout at Mungavin Avenue and McKillop Street.

The roundabout was installed to assist with traffic flow while Champion Street was temporarily closed. As Champion Street is now open to traffic, the roundabout will be removed and the intersection returned to its original state.

Removal of the roundabout will begin on the evening of Sunday 1 December 2024. To ensure the safety of residents and our workers, between 7pm and 6am, we will be closing one side of the road heading towards Cannons Creek (eastbound lane) and the western end of McKillop Street (near the RSA). Traffic heading towards the motorway/CBD will not be affected.

Between 7pm and 6am, all traffic travelling towards Cannons Creek including bus services will be diverted via Champion Street. Eastbound bus stops on Mungavin Avenue between the Z Station to the Ranui shops will also be unavailable during these times.

We expect the work to take 2-3 nights to complete. Our traffic management team will be onsite during our nightworks and will be able to advise you if you need any help. Whilst we will do our best to minimise disruption, you could experience noise and vibration during working hours.
