Eastern Porirua is going through some big and exciting changes. Over the next 20 years Te Rā Nui - Eastern Porirua Development, will be creating significant change in the East, from building hundreds of new homes to helping to enhance the local waterways, parks and how you can get from A to B. We’re confident these changes will help to enhance the wellbeing of everyone who lives here and it will help our community thrive.
We want to make sure we’re getting it right, and this is why we’ve created the Eastern Porirua Community Survey. We’ll be running the community survey every 4 years as a way to see what has changed from your perspective and what needs to still happen.
The first survey is out now
The first community survey is happening from 1 February to 11.59 pm on 8 March 2024. It asks questions which helps paint a picture about what it’s like to live in eastern Porirua now. This first survey is very important as it sets the benchmark for how the community feels about eastern Porirua in early 2024. Future surveys will build on the community’s responses and ask about the impact that our plans are having on you, your whānau and community. That way we can see how our work is positively contributing to eastern Porirua wider community wellbeing.
Who can fill in the survey?
The survey is open to everyone aged 16+ who lives in, or has a strong connection, to eastern Porirua (Ascot Park, Cannons Creek, Rānui, Waitangirua). To help understand how youth and adults feel about eastern Porirua, we have created a survey for anyone aged between 16-20 and a survey for anyone 21+ years.
Everyone, over age 16 can complete the survey. Even if you live in the same house, but each person can complete the survey once.
Fill in the survey and be in to win.
We’re keen to hear from as many locals as possible, but your time is precious. To sweeten the deal, we have 20 supermarket vouchers, each worth $100 to be won.
Completing the survey and entering the supermarket voucher draw is easy. Simply:
- Answer the survey questions. It’s an online survey that takes about 15-20 minutes. There’s no right or wrong answers so just tell us what you think. If you’d like any help filling it in – or prefer a paper version - please contact Rosa Ariu-Woolley on 021 420 509 or rosa.ariu@kaingaora.govt.nz
- Add your contact details. To go in the draw for the supermarket vouchers just add your name, email and phone number to the end of the survey.
- Complete the survey by 11.59 pm on 8 March 2024.
Winners will be announced after the 9th of March.
Next steps
We will create an Outcomes Report for the community, which summerises the results of each survey. That way we can all see the progress we are making together.
