Work is nearing completion on the development in Castor Crescent, which will provide new warm, dry homes for Kāinga Ora tenants.

In total, the Castor Crescent development will have 53 homes, with a range of different sizes (24 x 1 bedroom, 20 x 2 bedroom, 4 x 4 bedroom and 5 x 5 bedroom). The new homes have a 6 Homestar rating, and are fully insulated and have double glazing, which means they will be warm and dry.

In late July, 10 homes were completed (2 x 5-bedroom and 8 x 2-bedroom), with an open home on 31 July and tenants moving in early August.

Work is progressing well on the remaining homes (24 x 1 bedroom, 12 x 2 bedroom, 4 x 4 bedroom and 3 x 5 bedroom), with completion set for late 2020 or early 2021.
